Hello fellow anglers. What a great day on the water with a great group of guys. The guys came in from all over the United States for some of the best fishing on the planet  bar no ne and Louisiana didnt let them down. The guys had a ball in New Orleans the day and night before and were up a little but it didn’t hurt a thing as far as the fishing went we still wore out the reds and bull drum until the guys had aching arms. One stop was all it took on a rig in the sound and the fish were as thick as thives .All fish were caught on dead shrimp on the bottom.

These guys coudreally fish and they had a great time bending the rod and laughing and joking around with each other and it always helps when the fishing is good and it makes my job so easy when the fish are stacked up so at any time some one has a fish on and sometimes e had double  hook ups and triple hook  ups. The boss said they had a great time fishing with us and said that they cant wait to come back in the summer form some of the speckled trout slam that is just around the corner.

The final fish count for the day was 10 reds 14 drums 9 bay snappers and 1 flounder with an abundance of throw back bull reads and giant drums and many different species of fish mixed just to keep it interesting.

The fishing continues to be great in shell beach and in ths Atchafalaya spillway so if you would like to make a trip give me a call or drop me an email id love to take  you and yours fishing. Remember our motto RAIN OR SHINE SLEET OR SNOW IF YOU YOU COME WEW WILL GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

                         Thanks Capt. Ron

Hello fellow anglers sorry for the late reports but its been a busy weekend and ive been on the water for 5 days i n a row. Thursday I had the guys in from Mississippi to bend the rod and that we did in a grand IMG_0166IMG_0167IMG_0165fashion. All it took was one stop and that was a wrap. We  pulled up to a rig in the sound and it was loaded with all kinds of fish from bay snappers to giant red fish to black drums they were all there and HUNGRY. From the first cast until the guys said uncle the action was steady until the fish box was slam full of fish and the guys had to get back to catch their flight.

All of the fish that were caught today came on market shrimp fished Carolina rigged on the bottom. These guys could really fish and it showed in their talent in getting the fish out of the structure after the hook up and when the fish won the battle most of the time they were able to cut the 50# power pro like it was thread. All in all the guys had a great time catching their fill of big fish and releasing plenty more to fight another day. The specks haven’t really started to hit real good yet and the guys said as soon as they do start they will be back for that.

Today I had the pleasure of taking fishing double a , Grant , Chris and Scott all in from all over Mississippi. They had a blast laughing and joking around all day they kept me in stitches all day long. The guys had a bet on the largest fish and double a ended up with the  prize with an 18# red.

The big boys are on fire right now so if you would like to catch some of the brutes give me a call or drop me an email Id love to take you fishing. Remember  our motto RAIN OR SHINE SLEET OR SNOW IF YOU COME FISHING WE WILL GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

                             Thanks Capt. Ron

Hello fellow anglers. What a wonderful day we had on the water yesterday when I checked the condition report for Friday I knew it was going to be a great day to be out on the water and can I tell you that it just doesn’t get any better than it was yesterday PERIOD.

I arrived early at the dock to meet Mr. Ryan and his friends in from Florida for some of Louisiana’s best rod bending action and can I tell you it it was that and then some. The guys and gals arrived a little late (guess it was a little Bourbon street lag kicking in hahahaha) but it didn’ treally matter because one stop was all it took. We pulled away from the dock under a beautiful La.  sun rise for a little chilly boat ride but the group had fun on the way out laughing and joking about the night before all I can say was I wish I had been there, but isn’t that what New Orleans is about a good time. Now back to the fishing report. We made our way out into the sound and pulled up to a rig where we have been catching a LOTT of fish and it was action form the first cast until the group said uncle se give up plus it was long after the fish box was over flowing with plenty of good red fish black drum and sheep’s heads and they caught and released as many as we kept just for the shear pull of it.

This group are regular customers of mine and on the ride out they were still talking about their fall trout blowout trip and hoped that today we would catch some red fish and that we did. Today we had Ryan Lyle and Vanessa on the boat and all I can say was that the gals put a good whoopin on the guys but every one caught plenty of fish. The final fish count for the day was 10 reds 15 drums and 41 bay snappers (all the fish box could stand). So with aching arms and big smiles all around we headed for the barn. No sooner than we started in did the guys start planning their trip for the spring trout slam that is right around the corner. If you would like to get in on some of the greatest fishing in the world give me a call or drop me an email Id love to take you and yours out on the water. The spring days are booking up fast so get your days on the books early OK.

AS ALWAYS REMEMBER OUR MOTTO RAIN OR SHINE SLEET OR SNOW IF YOU COME WE WILL GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What a great day in the Atchafalaya spillway. My brother and decided it was  time to make a checkout trip thru the spillway and I told him that I thought it might be a little early just yet but we had nothing better to do so we  hooked up the old Louisiana traveler and off we went. First things first we hit Jerry Lees for some of the best boudin and hog head cheese on the planet  and we were ready for A good boat ride but little did we know it would turn out ssssoooo good.

When we got to the landing the water was a little on the high side but weve caught plenty of fish with the water much higer than it was todAy. We made a big round thru the central spillway looking for clean water and found a good bit of fishable water, mostly in the back ends of the dead end location canals and in virtually every canal we fished we caught something weather it be bass, bream, sacilat or catfish, chioupic and the occasional gar fish. We caught fish from the second cast until the last stop were we caught 3 small bass and a 6 pound choupic.

We caught most of the fish on shiners today but we also caught fish on Berkly power worms in the June bug with the green glitter color (my personal favorite) crank baits in the citrus shad color rattle traps in the blue and chrome color and spinner baits mostly in the white and yellow color. We caught some quality bass today with the two largest going just over 5 pounds but we also caught a Lott of throw backs but they were still fun to snag just for the fun of the pull.

The final fish count for the day was 9 keeper bass 13 sacalait 2 nice cat fish and 27 bull bream. All in all a really great day on the water especially for this early in the year. The only thing that might change in the near future is the rise coming in the Mississippi river that will be here i n the coming weeks. If the warm weather holds out for another week or so the fishing should IMG_0121IMG_0118IMG_0122IMG_0120IMG_0123IMG_0119really turn on.

The speckled trout just started to show up in hte Louisiana marshes and the same goes for them as the fresh water fish if the warm weather stays the action should get better and better. If you would like to make a trip with me weather  it be fresh water or salt water give me a call or drop me an email id love to take out where the big boys hang. The spring week end days are booking up prety  fast now so if your planing a trip get your dates reserved early.

Remember our motto RAIN OR SHINE SLEET OR SNOW IF YOU COME WE WILL GO!!!!!!!!!!!!

                     Thanks Capt Ron.

Hello fellow anglers and welcome to the 2010 fishing season. Started the new season off with a bang with a great bunch of guys that came in from the great state of Mississippi for some of Louisiana finest fishing adventures and the big boys didn’t let them down.

Today I had the pleasure of guiding Mr Danny and his guests Kieth Joel and Kevin. The guys met me at the dock at the crack of 8 am for a great time on the water and I’m glad that they decided to leave the dock a little laer than normal because the pretty long boat ride was a little chilly but not too bad. The key to fishing this time of year is to wear the right  clothes and it makes the fishing more livable. So off we went out to the sound for some great rod bending action but when we arrived there the winds that the weather man said was 5mph were more like 10 to 15 and from the worst possible direction. We tried some of the rigs that were holding fish in the last few weeks but could only manage a single keeper red. That’s when i made the decision to come back into the marsh and hunt for fish in the typical winter haunts and it worked out  for a fine day of fishing and catching.

We started fishing in the lake robin area and picked up aa few fish here and a few there with a lot of throw backs mixed in and preceded out to lake calabasas and around to lake amedee and over to four horse lake and the ended up in lake ameda and hopedale lagoon. We caught fish all over and ended the day with 35 keeper  reds and black drums with some of the reds up to 38 inches. Most fish we caught today were on market shrimp about 2 feet under a rattling cork but we did mix it up with some fish being caught on cocahoes. These guys could really fish and were a blast to be around and fish with. They kept me laughing with some of their exploits form there insurance adjusting jobs.

All in all a great time was had by all and the guys cant wait until the spring trout run starts and they want to make more trips then. The spring is fast approaching and the week end days are filling up fast so if your interested in making life time memories on the water with Capt. Ron give me a call or drop me an email and book your trip before the good days are all taken.

Remember our motto also rain or shine sleet or snow if you come we will go!!!!!!

                 Thanks your frind Capt.  Ron
