IMG_0115                         Hello fellow anglers. What a great day on the water with a very fun group of guys. The guys came in from all over south Louisiana for some fun and fellow ship on the water and we had plenty of both. The group had fished plenty of times together before and this was another great trip for their memory banks.

The weather looked a little iffy at best when we arrived at the dock but the guys said we came to fish RAIN OR SHINE so we loaded up and off we went into the wild blue yonder or the beautiful shell beach marsh. Luckily it wasn’t as bad as it looked and we only got a few showers not the deluge that was scheduled to hit us.

We  started fishing around some of the interior pounds around four horse lake and there were plenty of fish with lots of throw backs mixed in with some good fish mixed in. Most of the fish were caught on market shrimp 3 feet under a cork but we also caught trout on minnows and some small trout came on plastics in various colors under a cork and tight lined on the bottom but the trout were still on the small side.

We made a move to a deep hole off of the twins and it was on the fish were stacked up on this point with the strong incoming tide pushing bait straight in their mouths along with our hooks. This hole was all it took to fill the box  with some quality  fish. Some times it was a job netting all the fish with double hook ups and some times triples but we managed to get almost all of them in the boat. We ended the day with a 4 man limit of reds 20 with some of them 10+ pounds and 9 puppy drums 8 trout and 2 flounders. All in all a great day on the water with a great group of guys. These guys said they cant wait for the spring trout slam to start and they were coming back for more action then.

The fishing is great at the beach now and so is the fresh water fishing in the spillway so if you would like to make a fishing trip with me weather it be for  red fish speckled trout flounder bass crappie or bream we catch plenty of all of them , I would love to take you and yours out to enjoy this great outdoor bounty that good has blessed us with here in Louisiana. We are also in the process of buying a big cat boat for our offshore trips this year so if you would like to make a red snapper grouper ling or tuna trip get your dates on the books because the snapper season is gonna be a short on this year.

Remember our motto RAIN OR SHINE SLEET OR SNOW IF YOU COME WE WILL GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

                        Thanks Capt. Ron
