                      Hello fellow anglers. What a great day on the water with good friends. We met Mr. Claude at the dock at the crack of 5:30 to get an early start on the trout bite and to hang around close to the dock to meet capt. Gene Dugas at the dock after he got off work from the fire house. We  loaded the live wells with campos live and kicking shrimp and we were off to spot number one and that was all it took because we slammed the trout to the tune of 70 fat trout and 4 reds by 8:30 before we got the call from capt. gene and he said that he was at the dock waiting for us and as much as we hated to leave the trout hitting every cast we had to run pick him up.

                      After we hooked up with Gene we went into the interior marsh looking for trout and reds and made a big round all over the west side but couldn’t really get the fish to cooperate so it was back to where we started to Finnish off our limits and we wrapped it up with 100 trout 10 reds and 4 drums not a bad day for a scout trip. Today most all of the fish were caught on live shrimp Carolina rigged on the bottom but we caught a few trout on the rattling corks and a few on plastics and a few on live croakers   Carolina rigged but they mostly wanted live shrimp. All in all it was a great time and a long time the coming to finally get in the boat with capt. Gene.

                   The fishing is on fire right now in Shell Beach so if you would like to get into some of the spring time trout slam give me a call or drop me an email before they close us down for fishing and if they do who knows how long we will be down so lets go bend the rod.
