Hello fellow anglers. Had a great weekend with the Ladies crew in from San Antonio TX. form the Zachary group and boy could these ladies ever fish. After loading with speckled trout crack om a hook (aka Mr. Blackies live and kicking shrimp) we picked the ladies from the lodge in beautiful Fort Beauregard and it was on. From the first cast it was fish after fish flying over the gunnel until the heat and no bait ran us off the water, much to the ladies dislike. I think they would have fished until dark if I could have stand-ed it. Luckily it was a two day trip for these ladies because we would be still fishing.

The first trip I had the pleasure of fishing with Mrs. Jen Mrs. Jill & Mrs. Christy and the final fish count was 51 trout 15 red fish 4 puppy drums and 12 bay snappers. The second day on the boat with me were Mrs. Jen Mrs. Jill and they threw in Jason for a little competition and Saturday’s catch was 75 trout 10 red fish and 2 puppy drums. This group always catches so many fish and they are  an absolute pleasure to fish with and I’m looking forward to our next outing with this group.

Hello fellow anglers sorry about the late report but I have been fishing every day since they opened the fishing area back up and can I tell you that the fishing is HOT HOT HOT. I had the pleasure of fishing with Dr, Rick and his son Andrew in fro Jackson Mississippi for some rod bending drag screaming fun at the beach and that we delivered in spades today. We made one stop for the trout and one stop for their limit of red fish and that was a wrap as they say. The trout all fell to live shrimp rigged on a Carolina rig on the bottom and all the reds fell to dead shrimp on  a corh about 3 feet deep. It was Dr. Ricks first trip to Shell Beach but he said it certainly wont be his last. Plenty of fun and lots of fish were had today by all.

If you would like to take a trip please give me a call or drop me an email and we can arrange the trip of your lifetime. And as our motto says, “RAIN OR SHINE, SLEET OR SNOW, IF YOU COME WE WILL GO! Thanks Capt Ron and Capt Ricky

IMG_1293                 Hello fellow anglers. What a great day on the water with a great couple. The day started with a absolutely beautiful sunrise and the promise of a very successful day on the water and the fish didn’t let us down. After loading the live wells with Campos live and kicking shrimp we hit a close lake to the dock and that was a wrap, almost from the first cast when Mrs. Cheryl caught a nice 20 inch red fish and the action was steady until we had a solid limit of fat speckled trout and 15 beautiful red fish with some up to 10 pounds.

The final fish count for the day was 51 trout 15 red fish 4 puppy drums and 1 door mat flounder and 2 happy customers!!! A great time was had by all and they cant wait until their next trip to the best fishery in the world bar none.

If you would like to make a trip Capt.  Ron Or Capt. Ricky give us a call or drop us an email we would love to take you and your friends and family fishing but call early because the available days are going fast.

Today we had two repeat customers who brought their wives with them to get in on the hot action. We left the dock before dawn so we could be on the hot hole early. The tide was not moving very much this morning but we managed to pick up some good trout and a few good redfish. We moved to a area that has been smoking for the last two weeks and it did not let us down. We caught redfish a fast as we could through it and the Lyndy set the hook on a big fish and started the biggest fight of her life. We thought she had a giant redfish or a huge sheephead but when the fish sufaced it was a black drum that weighed over 50 pounds. Needless to say there was some hollering and screaming going on and a lot of request from Lyndy for her husband Darryl to come help her.  He just laughed at her and she just kept on fighting the fish. She finally wore the fish out and we netted it and had high fives all around. After a round of pictures we released the fish and started back fishing. It slowed down and we moved to a hole we have been catching them in.  It wasn’t long we had trout, redfish, sheephead, drum and flounder coming in the boat. We actually caught 15 flounder which is the largest number of flounder the boat has caught on one trip in a long time. All in all it was a great trip with 58 trout, 19 refish, 4 black drums and 15 flounder with a bonus of 18 sheephead. Below is the pictures from the trip and some memories made that will last a lifetime. We are looking forward to this group coming back soon to pack in the fillets once again.

Capt. Ron and I went out this morning at daylight to do some scouting for a client that is coming in tomorrow who wants to catch some big trout. We left at daylight and where set up fishing at the crack of dawn. The live shrimp from Campo’s hit the water and it was on. We quickly caught 26 huge trout with the largest caught by Capt. Ricky that went close to 8 1/2 lbs. What a sow and it was caught right under the boat. It wasn’t quite as good as my brother’s 9+ lber he caught last week but it was the largest trout I caught this year. Below is a picture of the fish and a table shot of the few we caught before we left. We hope they are there early in the morning so our clients can have a shot at a big girl like this one.

We are one of the only areas open to inshore fishing right now so call and get your spot they are booking up fast because no one knows when it might be shut down and for how long it will last if they shut it down.

Hello fellow anglers. My brother and I decided to make a short trip to the spillway since the river started dropping and we were glad we did. We did not even get on the water until 12 o’clock and only fished three hours but we ended up with 85 fish. We had mostly huge bream, a couple crappie, a few bass and catfish and one striped bass. The water is still real high but it is getting clear coming out of the woods so it won’t be long and it will be box filling time again. Hopefully this time the river goes on down and it will be killer fishing for the rest of this year. Below is a couple pictures of what our check out trip resulted in.

Hello fellow anglers. Another blowout day in Hopedale on deadly live Campo’s shrimp. We met two very anxious anglers at 5:30 this morning and headed out to a spot we have been consistantly loading up the box.  Today was not different; first cast it was on!  We had their 50 trout limit by 8 o’clock and decided to start the hunt for their limit of redfish. Ronnie asked if we knew where to catch some flounder and we made a move to a flat where we sometime pick up a few flounders. We anchored into the wind and the tide was perfect for our position. In 30 minutes of fishing we caught 4 flounder, 6 redfish and 4 nice black drum. The fish turned off and we hunted a pecked around until the guys where ready to go due to the lack of tide. Below is a few pictures of the trip. Can’t wait for the guys to come back.

Hello fellow anglers. Friday was a rip roaring, cast blasting day at the rocks along MRGO. We had the pleasure of hosting four guys from the Kentwood and Frankelton area. We had Jason, Kirk, Darryl and Brandt (the real fishermen, 12 years old) who came down and spent the night and was ready to go at 5:30 this morning. From the first cast it was on and by 8:30 we had a limit of 100 speckled trout and about 25 white trout. From there we starting searching inside for the redfish and it wasn’t long before we had three huge ones boated with another six 20 inchers in the fish box. We hunted around and picked up a few more different fish and then the rain clouds come in and we outran them to the dock.  All in all a very successful trip that resulted in 6 bags of stuffed filet. Below are some of the pictures of the catch and the guys with big grins on their face.

IMG_0457IMG_0460IMG_0461                   Hello fellow anglers. What a fun day on the water with Mr. Vegas and his two son s in from the great state of Alabama for some rod bending drag pulling action at the beach, and just as the doctor orderd the red fish were out in force and HUNGRY!!!!

After a short visit with Mr. FJ at Blackie’s marina and picking up some of their live and kicking shrimp and some market bait we hit the ponds around Fortuna and from the first cast the boys were hooked up and hooping and hollering and doing the old red fish shuffle as we call it on my boat until they had completed their limits with a few other species mixed in in the process. These two brothers were so much like me and my four brothers when we were coming up it brought back fond memories of some of our great outings with my dear departed dad that loved the great outdoors as much as I do now. They started out on the front of the boat right next to each other and I had to almost pry the fishing rod out of their hands when it was time to go. All the fish fell to shrimp rigged 3 feet under a rattling cork today. The final fish count for the dat was 25 red fish some up to 20 pounds 22 speckled trout, 2 bay snappers and 1 door mat flounder (7# 4 oz). All in all a great fishing with a fine family. The fishing is SSSSMMMOOOKKKIINNGGG in Shell Beach right now so lets go fishing.

Hello felow anglers, ran a trip on sun day for Capt. Frank Moore of Fishing with the king guide service with Tony, Chris, Scott & Dorson in from or great president(hahahahahahaha)ndiana for some R&R and to get into some of the great fish catching going on in Hopedale right now. The group wanted to target red fish and Dorson wanted to catch some thing BIG and that’s what we did. After filling the bait tank with Campos live and kicking shrimp it was on tho some of the interior lakes around the marsh and it was solid action all day long until the fish box couldn’t even close. Their catch today was 28 reds up to  20 pounds 22 trout 6 drums & 3 flounders and 1 giant black drum that tipped the scales at 46 pounds as per Dorsons request for a BIG fish. All the fish today were caught 3 feet under a rattling cork. This group could really fish and were talking about there next trip fishing with us even before we made it back to the dock.
