Hello fellow anglers. What a fun day on the water with a good group of people in from Tyler Texas for some work in our legal system and some of Louisiana’s rod bending action and we made that happen today. Because there are no live baits available we brought market shrimp as our weapon of choice and that was just the ticket.
Today we started fishing in the ponds around Oak River and the day started out with a bang with Mr. Robert catching a nice fat red fish on the first cast and the first stop produced 2 more red fish and a puppy drum. From there we bumped around the smaller lakes and picked up fish almost at every stop but never a bunch at any one stop. The action kept it interesting and we ended up using 3 pounds of bait and ended up catching their limits of reds and drum with a nice flounder and a few croakers for some variety mixed in.
Today I had the pleasure of fishing with Mr. Robert Davis and his protege Mr. Cory Shepheard in from Tyler Texas. The guys had a great time bending the rod and talking about whats in store for the Louisiana coast in the future but they said they are

already planing for their next trip down and the next fishing trip with us. As long as there is water open for us to fish we will keep on fishing and keep on catching fish in this great fishery that we have been so blessed with.
