Hello fellow anglers. Made a quick trip at the beach today after loading up and meeting my clients in from Alexandria Louisiana for some of the fast and furious trout action going on at the beach and today was no exception. Today I had the pleasure of fishing with Perry and his lovely wife Amy and boy could this couple ever fish, they told me they live close to Toledo bend resovior and fish all the time there and love it on the water and it showed in their fishing talent.
It only took 1 stop today to catch a box full of fish with the bait every where and the fish just as thick the action was fast and furious from the first cast when Amy hooked up with a 5 pound black drum until the fish box was stuffed to the max it was fish on fish on for this lovely couple. This was the first trip for the Spike family to fish a new area of the coast but they said they cant wait until their next trip with us at the beach and were looking forward to it also. It sure makes my job easier when people fish like pros on the boat and don’t really miss many fish when they hit but today the fish were eating the bait so aggressive that I had to surgically extract a lot of hooks deep out of the fishes gullets.
The final fish count for today was 55 nice trout some over 4 pounds 9 reds 10 drums and 6 bay snappers. Most fish fell today for the traditional crack on a hook (live shrimp) but they were also hitting pretty good on plastics also in any color as long as it was chartreuse and we even caught a few fish on top water top dogs in the bone and chartreuse color.
