Hello fellow anglers. Sorry about the late reports but I had to buy a new computer and it took a while to get it all set up so with that problem solved here we go . On Saturday I had a very nice couple go fishing with me all the way here from New York and they were super nice people and both fished really good and were just a little competitive with each other which always makes it a fun trip. I met Dennis and Letty at the hotel at 5am for their morning taxi ride with the captain and we were off to the dock to catch them up and today was an extra easy day with us only having to make two stops to catch all the fish that they could stand and they had told me that they didn’t want to keep any fish so it was catch and release until they asked if I knew any one who might cook any of their catch and I told them that the manager at Rocky and Carlos restaurant said that any time I had out of towners that wanted their catch cooked he would oblige and so we kept 2 reds 1 puppy drum and 5 speckled trout for the lunch break.
The guys were checking out New Orleans for a possible spot for their impending nuptials next year and said that was the place for them and also said that a bachelor party fishing trip was definitely on the agenda for next year. The couple had a blast today catching and fight fish all day long. We caught well over 150 fish today all on live Campos shrimp 3 feet under a popping cork.
After a fine day on the water we stopped off at Rocky’s and the chef prepared red fish and drum on the half shell and fried up the speckled trout and the guys gourged them selves on the world famous mac and cheese and many of the other great side dishes at their restaurant and almost blew up from all the good food. They said that was the perfect ending to a absolutely perfect day and so it was.
Thanks Capt. Ron

Hello fellow anglers. What a great fishing trip with a nice group of young men in from Oklahoma to visit their dad who is working in Louisiana for the oil spill. The guys arrived a little later than we expected but we still had enough time to make a good evening out of the trip and that we did. e went to a close lake to the dock and started off picking up nice fall trout right off the bat with the ation steady and after picking up about 25 trout the guys wanted to try for some red fish so off to lake Robin where I have been slamming the reds but upon arival the wind died and our old friends the gnats came out in force so bad you couldn’t even breath without them flying in your mouth so after a few moments we headed back to the speckled trout lake to Finnish off the day. We picked up 15 or 20 more trout and 1 red fish to Finnish off the day and saw a absolutely stunning sunset to close out the day. The final fish count for the short trip was 39 trout 1 red and 2 bay snappers not a bad evening trip for 2 hours. All fish were caught on Campos live shrimp 3 feet under a poping cork today.

Hello fellow anglers. What a great fishing trip with two very nice men who have been fishing all of their lives and love to get together on the water and have a good day visiting and catching fish and today was a Lott of both. I met the guys which were Mr. Joe and Mr. George in from Covington for some great fall fishing action that is in full swing now. After loading up with Campos live shrimp we headed to the small lakes around lake Robin and at the firsts stop we were able to catch a nice limit of fat speckled trout drifting the shore lines and hitting the points and coves in the lake. The action wasn’t fast and furious but would start and we would catch 8 or 10 then nothing for a while then they would start back up biting. After 3 drifts we had a limit of specks and started looking for red fish and we were able to pick up 3 nice reds and 3 drums and 3 bay snappers t0 go with the 75 trout in the fish box. All in all a great time was had by all and the guys had a blast and left with 5 gallons of fillets for the future fish fries and made some good memories that the the guys will relive until next time they get together to bend the rod again.

Hello fellow anglers. What a wild start to a great ending of the day. My day started with two armed men robbing me at the grocery store in Violet early this morning and then knocking me in the head before making their quick exit but at least they didnt shoot me so thats a good thing for me. Then when I met my clients who were Mr. Travis and Mr. Douglass in from Mississippi Travis was on the phone with an urgent message from his wife that two men had kicked in the front door of their brand new house to rob them. Luckly when they realized that someone was at home they fled without incident, I told Travis that mabye today was a cursed day and that if he needed to go home we could do it anlother time but he said his wife was insestent on him going ahead and fishing so thats what we did.
We filed the live wells with Campos live and kicking shrimp and off to the interior lakes where at the first stop we waxed a limit of nice fall speckled trout on shrimp under a cork, the action wasn’t fast and furious but it was steady and it only took about 2.5 hours to get our limit then off to find some red fish. As of late the reds have been kind of hard to get to eat but it isn’t because they are not there because every where we stopped you could see the reds pushing up and down the banks but they just are not eating the baits.
These guys fish a lot together and were a blast to fish with and they both fish very well so it makes for an easy day for the captain when I have that combination. The final fish count for today was 75 specks 2 reds and 2 puppy drums and 2 happy customers. Mr. Travis said he learned a Lott about fishing the inside waters fishing with me today and really that’s what fishing with a guide does for even the better fishermen it teaches them new techniques and tactics to make them even better fishermen themselves.

Hello fellow anglers. What a great fishing trip with 2 very nice men in from Walker Louisiana for a nice present from his congregation for pastor appreciation week. I met pastor Herman and his main man Mr. Danny at the dock at 6 am and we made the short run to the inside ponds where I have been having some good success around Lake Robin and the specks were there and hungry, from the first cast where Danny had a swing and a miss but it was action steady all day long with hits and misses and plenty of catching many fish were coming over the side of the boat until we had a nice box of trout and the guys wanted to go find some red fish to bend their rods so off we went.
We started fishing the south end of lake Robin and the red fish were every where but they were hitting slow slow with only the occasional take down but when they did hit they were nice ones but the action was too slow so we headed over to the Delacroix marsh to the four horse area and got on a good bite with some rat reds mixed in with the good reds but good action from the start and ended up keeping 5 nice red fish. The fish today wanted live shrimp under a cork today and the final fish count was 72 speckled trout 13 red fish 1 puppy drum and 1 big bay snapper all in all a great day on the water with good fishing and fellowship with two very nice men. it was a great day from the beautiful sunrise until the guys were ready to wrap up their great day fishing and visiting with each other. After a few pictures for their files I fixed the guys up with 5 gallons of fillets ready for a swim in lake Crisco as they say and the guys said they cant wait until their next trip on the water. These guys were a pleasure to fish with and im so glad I was able to fill the pastors wishes for his special day on the water.

Hello fellow anglers. What a great fishing trip with a wonderful family in from Murrow for some family rod bending action. We met at the dock at 6:30 and loaded up with some of Campos live and kicking shrimp then we headed to a well in Lake Fortuna where we have been catching up the trout but the wind was howling in front of the impending showers that were headed our way so on to plan B. Plan B was a rig with some structure around that we could hide behind until the wind died down and luckily there were trout there and we were able to keep 35 or so nice specks there then the front turned to the north and the winds laid down just enough to head back to spot number one. When we pulled up the fish were skipping shrimp on the surface of the water and it was on until the little guys were burnt out and had enough fun reeling in fish and we headed to the dock with a box full of fish and smiles on every one’s faces.
Today I had he pleasure of fishing with Mr. Pratt his lovely wife Nicole and ther sons Nicholas and Alexander and the boys had as much fun playing with the live shrimp and each other as they did reeling in the fish but that’s what its all about when you have young outdoors men on board. All fish fell today to live shrimp 3 feet under a cork and the final fish count was 98 speckled trout 3 bay snappers 7 red fish and 2 puppy drums.
