Hello fellow anglers. Sorry about the late reports but I had to buy a new computer and it took a while to get it all set up so with that problem solved here we go . On Saturday I had a very nice couple go fishing with me all the way here from New York and they were super nice people and both fished really good and were just a little competitive with each other which always makes it a fun trip. I met Dennis and Letty at the hotel at 5am for their morning taxi ride with the captain and we were off to the dock to catch them up and today was an extra easy day with us only having to make two stops to catch all the fish that they could stand and they had told me that they didn’t want to keep any fish so it was catch and release until they asked if I knew any one who might cook any of their catch and I told them that the manager at Rocky and Carlos restaurant said that any time I had out of towners that wanted their catch cooked he would oblige and so we kept 2 reds 1 puppy drum and 5 speckled trout for the lunch break.
The guys were checking out New Orleans for a possible spot for their impending nuptials next year and said that was the place for them and also said that a bachelor party fishing trip was definitely on the agenda for next year. The couple had a blast today catching and fight fish all day long. We caught well over 150 fish today all on live Campos shrimp 3 feet under a popping cork.
After a fine day on the water we stopped off at Rocky’s and the chef prepared red fish and drum on the half shell and fried up the speckled trout and the guys gourged them selves on the world famous mac and cheese and many of the other great side dishes at their restaurant and almost blew up from all the good food. They said that was the perfect ending to a absolutely perfect day and so it was.
Thanks Capt. Ron
Dennis first red fish.
