Hello fellow anglers. What a great day on the water with my brother. We made a quick check out trip to the center spillway just to see what was happening and all that was happening was solid fish action from the second cast until we left it was on.The water level was as low as I have ever seen it but it didn’t seem to matter because in every spot where the water was some what clear it was full of fish and they were hungry. We started with crank baits in the new citrus shad color nad then switched to a rattle trap in the shad color but it didn’t seem to matter they were eating them both up and when they slowed down a little we went to the old standard Berkley power worm in the June bug color and that was a wrap
We started fishing in the Belle river area and ended up in the middle fork area and caught fish all in between. We caught at least 150 bass and kept 7 and 16 stripers and 25 sac-a-lait. The bass were all 16 inch’s and the stripers were nice but the sacs were the typical spillway size. The fishing is just kicking off for the year so its time to shake off the cob webs and get after them. But be extremely careful out there because with the low low water conditions you might hit stuff in canals that are usually wide open so BE CAREFULL OUT THERE.
If you would like to make a trip Capt. Ron give us a call or drop us an email we would love to take you and your friends and family fishing but call early because the available days are going fast.If you would like to take a trip please give me a call or drop me an email and we can arrange the trip of your lifetime. And as our motto says, “RAIN OR SHINE, SLEET OR SNOW, IF YOU COME WE WILL GO!
Thanks Capt Ron

Hello fellow anglers. Made a scouting fishing trip with another captain that works with us Capt. Gene Dugas and we had a great day on the water, the weather was awesome the water levels had come back to near normal levels and the water temperatures were on the rise and the company was one of the best fishermen on the coast (short of me OF COURSE!!!!!). I met Capt. Gene at the dock at 8 am and we started fishing in lake ameeda and continued to Hopedale lagoon and the bite wasn’t on fire but it was a steady bite with smaller plastics rigged on rattling corks in the usual colors in the cleaner water we caught fish on the shrimp colors and in the stained waters the fish wanted smoke or root beer or green with black jigs on a cork. We tried several other baits such as hard plastics and soft plastics bounced off the bottom but Nada all the fish wanted the bait dangling under a cork and no other way. The red fish were all over the marsh in the shallows but we didn’t even try for them because they never quit hitting all winter long so today was just a trout scouting trip.
We caught trout all over the interior marshes but not bunched up any where we would catch 2 or 3 here and 2 or three there but enough action to make for a great time on the water with a great guy and a hell of a lot better than sitting around the house and watching the paint dry, if you know what I mean. The water temps had come up almost 10 degrees during the day and with them coming up the fishing action will heat up also so ok Louisiana sportsmen now that the guns are in their gun cases its time to knock the dust off the old fishing rods and get after it.
