Hello fellow anglers. What a great fishing trip with a good friend yesterday my friend Mr Tyler and his buddy made a good day of the gail force winds we were delt.I met the guys at the dock at 5;30 armed with some live shrimp and dead bait we hit the edges of the sound and were greeted with a stiff 25- 30 mph wind and 3-4 foot waves so on to plan B and we started hitting some of my inside spots and immediatly started picking away at the trout and red fish and drums, the action wasnt fast and furious but it was steady enough to keep it intresting. After hitting a few other spots around the east side we headed to oak river area and found a good bite in some of the smaller lagoons and at 1 spot we picked up 35 nice trout and 5 reds and 4 puppy drums, easily the best stop of the day. So with a good day made we made one final stop in lake campo to finnish with a flurry of bay snappers and 3 more red and 2 more drums and that was a wrap. With smiles all around and a whole lott of pressure off me we headed to the dock with a good box of fish.
All the fish today were caught on live and dead shrimp rigged 3 feet under a rattling poping cork fished tight up to the grass. The final fish count was 41 fat speckled trout 10 red fish 6 drums and 35 bay snappers. Not a bad day considering we almost cancled the trip.

If you would like to make a trip Capt. Ron give us a call or drop us an email we would love to take you and your friends and family fishing but call early because the available days are going fast.If you would like to take a trip please give me a call or drop me an email and we can arrange the trip of your lifetime. And as our motto says, “RAIN OR SHINE, SLEET OR SNOW, IF YOU COME WE WILL GO!

Thanks Capt Ron

Hello fellow anglers. What a great fishing trip with a wonderful family who drove in from baton rouge on sunday morning to get some meat for their freezers and that we did. After a ominous lookig sky of 3 rainbows on my ride back to the dock with the bait the rain blew over and revealed an absolutly georgous day to rip some lips. Today I had the pleasure of fishin with my good fried Mr. Al his brother and his son with his sons new wife and als grandson and boy could those guys fish even with equipment that were not fimaliar with they jumped right in and started smoking the trout at the first stop the bite was not on fire but steady and we managed to put 72 fat specks on ice before they slowed a bit and we made a short move and picked up 20 more trout with some spanish mackrell and lady fish mixed in the the tide went slack and so did the bite.So on to spot number 2 and from the moment we stopped it was solid action with a mixed bag of fish coming in from red fish to big specks to puppy drums to all of the bay snappers they could stand. After a few hours of rod bending action and the sweltering heat and very little wind we called it a day (also the fish box was bursting at the seams) and headed to the home twenty.
It was a blast fishing with Al and his family tloday and they all cant wait until our next trip on the Louisiana coast. The final fish count for the day was 112 specks 7 red fish 4 drums and 35 bay snappers. All fish today were caught using live shrimp rigged 3 feet under a rattling poping cork.
Ron give us a call or drop us an email we would love to take you and your friends and family fishing but call early because the available days are going fast.If you would like to take a trip please give me a call or drop me an email and we can arrange the trip of your lifetime.
Hello fellow anglers. Sorry about the site being down but we had a terrable trojan virus that virtually wiped out my site so I had to rebuild and the mean time im so behind on my fishing reports so hope fully I am good to go now.It has been a good winter this year and the fishing has never let up with great catches of trout reds and flounder coming in with regularity and now the spillway and fresh water catches are kicking off big time and we caught 2 of the largest bass ever in the last 2 weeks with a 10.2 pounder and a 9.6 pounder being caught in the bayou pigeon area and both fish were caught on the humdinger spinner bait in the chartruse and white with the dual color blades fished on the edges of the grass in the canals and sloew rolled through the run outs. On the last 3 trips we have caught at least 250 bass total and about 500 bream with most of the bream coming from the lake varette area. Also the sacalait have been mixed in and so have the blue cats. Most of the pan fish have been being caught on the cool cat worms and crickets fished arount the tuplagum trees.
The trout have started their migraions out to the outer lakes and the sound and have started showing up in good numbers and the red fish and drums are all over the edges of the marshes ans the outside is full od reds and bay snappers that you can stand to reel in.The off shore fishing is kicking off also and the snapper season is already set so if you want to get a off shore trip on the books its first come first serve so lets go fishing.

If you would like to make a trip Capt. Ron give us a call or drop us an email we would love to take you and your friends and family fishing but call early because the available days are going fast.If you would like to take a trip please give me a call or drop me an email and we can arrange the trip of your lifetime. And as our motto says, “RAIN OR SHINE, SLEET OR SNOW, IF YOU COME WE WILL GO!

www.spoutdoors.com

Hello fellow anglers. What a great fishing trip with a wonderful day on the water with a lovely couple in from Mississippi and Mrs. Cindy recesently in all the way from Afganastan to enjoy some of the best fishing any where in the world and Von gave a plan of attack and he wanted Cindy to tussle with a big red fish before she was planed to depoly back to Afganastan on monday morning but first we needed some fish for a fish fry and I had the trout located in an interior lake and the plan was set.

I met von and Cindy at 5:30 at the dock and they were chomping at the bit reay for the action that was to come and loaded up for the short run to an interior lake close to the dock and about 3 casts later Cindy was hooked up and she jumped out to a four to nothing lead before Von got in on the action and from there it was on with trout after trout flying in on cast after cast then all of a sudden Cindy started to squeal and she was hooked into the monster that was just what von had wanted her to catch and after an exciting fight the beast finally gave up the ghost and into the net he went and a beauty she was almost 13 pounds of muscle. After a few pictures and a few high fives we were back at the action and it never slowed down from there we were catching fish on almost every cast with some fine speckled trout and black drums and reds and a few bay snappers mixed in it didn’t take long to fill their limits of trout and with the fish box almost to the rim they wanted to try for some more red fish so off to spot number two where we caught another drum or two and a few small reds but not a lott so we tried another spot in a deep hole but nothing so we headed back to the first spot with the last of the bait and were able to pick up 3 more drums and two more bay snappers and the last of the trout limits.

So with two happy customers and a ton of great memories made for Mrs. Cindy to relive in her tent on her mission in Kanduhar we took it to the house where Cindy said she would relive this day the whole time she is in battle until the next time she and Von can do it again. All the fish were caught today on live shrimp rigged 2 feet under a rattling popping cork. The final fish count for the day was 75 nice speckled trout 3 red fish 7 puppy drums and 5 bay snappers. It was such a perfect day spent with two great people and every hing couldn’t have went any better with te temperature like fishing in the air conditioning and not a cloud in the sky it was absolutely perfect day and I was o happy to take one of our finest who put their lives on the line every day for our valuable freedomthat we enjoy every minute of every day.

If you would like to make a trip Capt. Ron give us a call or drop us an email we would love to take you and your friends and family fishing but call early because the available days are going fast.If you would like to take a trip please give me a call or drop me an email and we can arrange the trip of your lifetime.
Hello fellow anglers. What a great fishing trip with a a very fun group of guys today Jason wanted to take his brother on a late birthday trip and we were after what ever would bite and according to the weather report it was SUPPOSED to be a perfect day for it but around 8 am the torrential winds moved in and didn’t do any thing but get worse as the day progressed. I met Jason and his brother and their brother in law Joe at the dock at 5:30 and we headed out to the interior marshes where we have been catching a lot of fish as of late and this morning it was perfect and the trout were there and eating but slowly and we picked up about 20 specks until they shut down so we made a move to a near by shore line and picked up a few red fish and puppy drums then nada. Spot number 3 was more of the same with the guys catching about 3 reds 5 trout and 4 puppy drums.

By now the winds had really started to pump and it was getting harder and harder to find a place to tuck into to try and hide from it but we made lemonade out of the lemons that we had been handed and the guys trekked on and we hit a good stretch of bank that had plenty of fish on it and we managed about 20 more specks and 7 reds and 5 more puppy drums and we used all the bait we had and that was a wrap. With a full box of fish we headed to the barn. The fish today were caught on live shrimp rigged 2 feet under a rattling popping cork. The final fish count for the day was 34 trout 15 red fish and 10 puppy drums not a bad day for a wind blown day.The guys had a great time laughing and joking all day long and cant wait until their next trip a little later in the fall.

If you would like to make a trip Capt. Ron give us a call or drop us an email we would love to take you and your friends and family fishing but call early because the available days are going fast.If you would like to take a trip please give me a call or drop me an email and we can arrange the trip of your lifetime.
Hello fellow anglers sorry about the long absence from doing reports but AGAIN Ive been having unbelievable computer problems and ended up having to buy a brand new lap top to take care of a reoccurring problem then I had to start from square one but now im bbbaaacckkk. What a great fishing trip with a a really nice group of guys (even though they are long horn fans) but they sure could fish and were a blast to spend time on the boat with them. I met Shane and a few of his fellow workers at the dock at 5;30 and armed with Campos live shrimp we hit the sound to calm winds and clear water but the salt content was up to 20 percent and that usually means slow trout action but at the first rig the guys started out like wild fire with fish after fish but then the tide went slack and so did the fish but by then we had 25 nice trout and 1 nice puppy drum on ice. After giving them a while there we made a move a few hundred yards to another structure and picked up a few more trout and a big bay snapper then nada and on to spot number three and that was the ticket because as soon as we got tied off we started catching trout on all sides of the boat and it didn’t take long to finish off their 125 trout limit. Then they wanted to try for a few red fish and we hit the channel and caught a bunch of rats with 3 keeper bay snappers and 1 keeper red and on to the interior lakes and we did manage to catach a few nice red fish mixed with a ton of rat reds and by then it was getting late and the guys were burnt out and we had had a great day so off to the barn.

its been a while that Shane has been talking about comig fishing with me and im glad we finaly were able to get it done the only bad thing was our friend Doc didn’t get to make the trip with us. All fish today were caught using live shrimp rigged 3 feet under a popping cork. The final fish count was 125 fat speckled trout 5 red fish 2 puppy drums. This group was such a blast to fish with I cant wait until our next trip on the water and next time Doc said he will be with us.

This is Capt. Ronnie Hope coming to you with the fishing forecast from the Shell Beach, Hopedale area for the coming month of September . This month the trout fishing will be good but during this month the trout will begin he fall migration to the inside for the winter patterns and the red fish will also and they have already started their move with big schools of reds being seen inside already. The speckled trout will still be eating live shrimp until they are gone and that will depend on LDWF and the close of the season. The red fish can be caught in the ponds on market bait under a cork fished along the shore lines and in the cuts and also you can sight fish for them with spoons and spinners in the shallows when the water clarity allows it.

The off shore fishing out of Shell beach has been phenomenal and with the the amber jack season back open the big boys will be hot and heavy for as long as you want to crank them up and the mangrove snapper are still all over the rigs along with the trigger fish and grouper and cobia and can be caught off the bottom or on top on all types of cut bait. Sometimes they can be caught on buck tail jigs and diamond jigs in various colors but the bright colors usually work best. All in all September is set to be an awesome month for fishing either in shore or off shore but it Will be HOT HOT HOT out there so make sure that every one stays hydrated with plenty of liquids.

If you would like to make a trip Capt. Ron Or Capt. Ricky give us a call or drop us an email we would love to take you and your friends and family fishing but call early because the available days are going fast.If you would like to take a trip please give me a call or drop me an email and we can arrange the trip of your lifetime. And as our motto says, “RAIN OR SHINE, SLEET OR SNOW, IF YOU COME WE WILL GO!

Hello fellow anglers. What a fun fishing trip with a group of good friends in from Arkansas for a visit and some good ole rod bending action. We met Mr. Rick and 5 of his good friends at the dock at 5 am and loaded with mangrove snapper bait we hit the gulf and were greeted by calm seas and a slight breeze and the guys were anxious to hit the first spot and after a good boat ride we hooked to the rig and it was on like donkey Kong with the first drop producing a nice 12 pound mangrove snapper. From the first drop it was a Chinese fire drill on the boat with double and triple hook ups going on but a lot of red snapper mixed in but they sure make a good tug on the line for the guys. The guys caught plenty of nice fat mangroves and some trigger fish mixed in and 1 cobia and had some big fish eat several 5 and 6 pound red snapper on the way up but we could never turn their head ot of the rig before they could cut us off. After the bite slowed a little we made a move to another rig and picked up a few more fish and decided to go back to the start and try to catch some big fish and we managed 1 nice amber jack and 2 trigger fish to round out a perfect day.

So with a fish box to the bursting point we headed the boat north and the guys fired up their party early and had a blast on the way back to the dock.My friends and I and Capt Ricky had a blast with each other and the guys cant wait until next red snapper season to make their next trip with me. The final fish count for the day was 39 mangrove snapper 2 trigger fish 1 cobia and 1 amber jack. A great time was had by all and after a round of high fives and hand shakes the guys headed of to tear down Bourbon street.

Hello fellow anglers. What a great fishing trip with a very nice family in from Macon Georgia for some fast and furious speckled trout action that is in full swing right now in Shell Beach and with the weather prediction today looking A little iffy at best but as usual the weather man missed AGAIN thank god. I met Mr. Gary and his family at the dock after a couple of days of enjoying down town new Orleans and all that this great town has to offer they were ready to bend the rod and at the first stop the action was as fast as it gets with fat specks flying in the boat until a little shower came through and shut down the bite so off to spot number two and there out in the edge of the sound we wrapped up their limits of trout and caught and released for a while before they wanted to try for a few red fish so off into the marsh.

We started in a lake just off of lake Fortuna and right away we started catching gorilla reds but the guys just wanted a couple for the grill and these were just too big to be nay good grilled so we hit lake robin and the reds were there but just the opposite of in fortuna there were tons of rats and we weeded through them and ended up with 3 reds the perfect size for grilling and also they caught 2 flounders along the way.The final fish count for the day was 120 fine speckled trout 3 red fish and 2 flounders. All fish today were caught on Campos live shrimp rigged 3 feet under a rattling cork.

If you would like to make a trip Capt.
Hello fellow anglers. What a great fishing trip with a very nice family in from Denham springs Louisiana for a meat haul trout trip to fill their freezer for the winter of no fishing and lots of hunting. We met the group Mr. Billy and his son Travis and his sons best friend Paul at the dock at 5 am primed with a well full of campos live and kicking shrimp but when we hit the hot spot out in Breton sound and I started to fill the bait buckets almost all of the live shrimp were floaters but it didn’t seem to matter to the hungry speckled trout because from the first cast where Travis hooked a fat trout and almost lost him at the boat but thanks to a fast net man we caught him in mid escape and on ice he went. From there it was wild and crazy action until number 100 hit the box in just over an hour and a half and just in time because approaching from the west was a storm that according to the radar had plenty of red level rain in it and after hitting a few spots for a quick check for reds on the way to the dock with only catching a few rats and the weather hot on our tails we hit the barn.

The speckled trout is as hot as it gets right now so if you would like to make a trip of a lifetime call me and get your date on the books or drop me an email. The final fish count for today was 100 fat speckled trout 1 red fish and 1 flat fish for stuffing. all fish today were caught on shrimp rigged 3 feet under a rattling cork fished slow slow.
