Hello fellow anglers. What a great fishing trip with a very fine family in from prairieville for a fathers day trip to remember. I met Mr. Johnson and his Crew after a night battling our fine state bird in their humble abode (that is the mosquito) they all were chomping at the bit for a good fathers day fishing trip and that’s just what we had. After settling in on board the blue streak skeeter we were greeted by a gorgeous sunrise and a pleasant boat ride to the fishing hole. At the first stop the action wasn’t fast and furious but it was steady and all the trout were really nice trout,  as the day progressed and the sporadic rain showers came and went every one caught some fish and had a good time but the real fisher woman of the day was Mrs bailey because she caught fish after fish and she ended the day with the bragging rights to the most fish AND the biggest fish AND the only red fish of the day.All in all I think every one had a great day on the water especially Mrs bailey on her very first fishing trip on a boat and it was amazing that never one time did she say she was ready to go or complain one peep about anything.All in all a great time was had by all and some great fathers day memories were made.

All fish today were caught in the bretton sound area on live shrimp rigged 3 feet under a rattling cork.The final fish count was 51 speckled trout 10 bay snappers 1 lone red fish. The big trout should be on the prowl in the next week or so and now is the time to go get them so lets go fishing.

Hello fellow anglers. What a great fishing trip with a LOVELY COUPLE IN FROM HATTIESBERG MISSISSIPPI FOR A RELAXING DAY ON THE WATER AND THAT WAS  exactly what we had. I met the couple at the dock at 5 am and we were of to the fishing hole and what a perfect day it was but at first the relentless winds were blowing but shortly after daylight the laid and it was on . At spot number 2 in bay Eloy from the first cast it was trout after trout with a lot of small white trout but some real quality trout mixed in and Mr. Von even caught a trout almost 7 pounds.After sifting through the dinks Von and Mrs. Cindy ended up with a nice limit of fat speckled trout and we ventured off in search of some red fish but today they had lock jaw but they did manage 3 gorilla bay snappers and 1 big blue cat.all in all a great time was had by all and we took it to the barn.

The final count for today was 55 trout 1 blue cat and 3 bay snappers. All fish today were caught on live shrimp rigged 3 feet under a rattling cork.

Hello fellow anglers. What a great fishing trip with a my great friend and his finsee in from baton rouge to introduce mrs tony to the wonders of the salt water fishery that we are so blessed to have her in Louisiana and today was no exception because from the first stop until the last it was solid action despite the howling south east winds.They picked me up from Baton rouge early and we headed south and Tony was excited as a kid on Christmas morning with all the high praises that Dave  had lauded about me so I had a very large set of shoes to fill buy no problem (hahahaha).

We made it to the dock early and loaded the live well with live shrimp and headed out the black bay to a steady 2 foot chop and it didn’t look good but we did manage about 10 solid trout at the first stop but the winds seemed to be on the increase so we headed to the east and the protection of the ship chanel and it was on again from the first cast when tony hooked up with a solid 2 pound trout  the action was fast ans furious until they depleted the shrimp supply and it was off to the marsh for some red fish action. The red fish seemed to be tucked way back in the grass with th extremely high waters and weren’t biting too fast but we did manage to boat 6 nice reds and 3 bay snappers and 2 flounders to put the proverbial icing on the cake of another great day on the water with great friends.Needless to say that another lover of Louisiana salt water fisher woman was born today and it was easily recognized by the broad smile that you couldn’t beat off of Mrs Tony’s face and all she could say was WHEN ARE WE GOING AGAIN!!!!!!!

All fish today were caught on live shrimp rigged 3 feet under a rattling cork. The final tally for today was 74 nice fat speckled trout 6 red fish 3 bay snappers and 2 flat fish. Not a bad for a wind blown day that we had today.

Hello fellow anglers. What a great fishing trip with a good friend of mine from New Orleans we have been trying to get out and rip some lips for quite some time but for one reason or another it just hasn’t happened.Finally we were able to put it together and what a day it was we met at the dock at 5 and loaded up and headed into the sound to flat seas and a slight breeze and from the first cast it was on with nice trout coming over the side of the boat. The bite lasted about 1.5 hours then slowed a bit and we made a short move to spot 2 and it was fast and furious and our limits were on ice with a quickness and off to the marsh looking for a few red fish and we picked up a few reds and bay snappers and 2 flat fish to wrap up a great trip in short order. The fishing is on fire right now with easy limits and a vast number of other types of fish being caught so now is the time to wet your line.

All fish today were caught on live shrimp rigged 3 feet under a rattling cork. The count for today was 50 specks 5 reds 5 bay snappers and 2 flounders.

Hello fellow anglers. What a great fishing trip with a couple of my brothers its always a blast to get to make a trip with my family members and all of us brothers are only a lil bit competitive (LOL).I knew it was going to be a little tough today because the winds of late have been howling and the waters have been extremely high but you know how it is you never know until you go.We left the dock at the azz crack of daylight and hit the sound to a solid 2 foot chop but we plowed on and as we got out it got worse so we tucked in behind stone island for a while to see if the blow would calm down and after a while it laid down a little bit and the brothers were getting antsy so out we went.We pulled up to a rig and stuck the anchor and it was on but the fish were hitting kind of strange with a Lott of hook ups but a bunch coming unbuttoned  and after catching  a few I figured out why all the fish were good sized but they were all just barely hooked in the edges of their mouths. The bite wasn’t fast but the fish we caught were all quality fish with several over 5 pounds and some giant bay snappers and the occasional bull red mixed in for some rod bending drag screaming action all around.

All in all we had a great time on the water as always and the fish were an added bonus we only had 29 trout and 3 reds and 7 bay snappers but it was a great day with all things considered.All fish today were caught on live shrimp rigger Carolina  style with a 3/8 ounce sliding sinker.

Hello fellow anglers. What a great fishing trip with my best friend and his lovely fience’. Its been a while since we had a chance to go rip some lips together and the spillway is heating up and his girl friend had never caught a fish before so today was the day to change all of that and that is exactly  what we did today with a cherry on top.I met dave at his house early and Tony was as excited as a kid on christmas eve and with good reason (I mean they were going with the best after all hahahaha!!!) and off to stephensville la. better know as the smoke hole and every thing was absoluetly perfect for a great day on the water and from the first cast it was on we were catching bull bream chincapin sacilait catfish gar fish gogle eyes  & bass. The action never quit and Tony was having a blast catching and catching and catching and needless to say she was an instant addict.We  all had a blast filling the box today with a variety of great eating fish and a few throw backs and a boat load of fun with lots of laughing and joking and pokenig fun at each other with a merorie of a life time for tony on her first real fishing trip.

Today we ended up catching 101 bream 15 cat fish & 1 sacilait all caught on canadian wigglers rigged about 2 feet under a bullet cork on and ultra light rod.The worms were all over the tupla gum trees and the fish were eating it up and the way it looks the bite will be on from now on all the way through the summer so now is the time to go fill your freezr with some of the best eating fis in louisiana.

Hello fellow anglers. What a great fishing trip with a a very fine family in from Texas for the holidays and a little rod bending action but the weather was looking a little iffy at best with cold front passing through and packing with some powerful winds I had the sinking feeling that the trout were going to have lock jaw so I reiterated my feelings to the guys before the trip and gave them to option to cancel but they were ready to go so that’s what we did.Mr. Gary did say at the dock that he had plenty of speckled trout in the freezer so if we could catch a few red fish he would well satisfied on this chilly day and I have been on a good red fish bite so at least I had that wild card in my hand.

When I stepped out of the truck it was just as expected a stiff 35 mph wind and cold as a well diggers jewels as they say but it is what it is. The guys arrived and with a few live shrimp and some market bait we hit lake ameeda to try for a few trout and see if any reds were still in the lake and we caught a few trout but no reds so off to spot  number 2 and nada. With the tide ripping out it was time to play my ace in the hole and we went to lake robin to my red honey hole and the fish were there and hungry and almost from the first cast it was red fish after red fish coming over the side with a bunch of rat reds mixed in but   it was a whole bunch of casting and reeling for the guys and all fun. After about 2 hours the guys had 21 nice reds,  some up to 30″ and 10 pounds but most were in the 18-20″ range ( a perfect size for the grill)  and 4 specks ans 1 flat fish before the bite slowed to a crawl probably because we had lost about 3 feet of water to the screaming north winds and a hard falling tide and the guys said through chattering teeth the men said uncle and we took it to the barn.

All in all it worked out to be a great day on the water again with Mr. Gary and his boys all be it a cold one still a good one.I hope every one had a safe and merry Christmas and hope that every one has a safe and happy new year.

Hello fellow anglers. What a great fishing trip with a good friend yesterday my friend Mr Tyler and his buddy made a good day of the gail force winds we were delt.I met the guys at the dock at 5;30 armed with some live shrimp and dead bait we hit the edges of the sound and were greeted with a stiff 25- 30 mph wind and 3-4 foot waves so on to plan B and we started hitting some of my inside spots and immediatly started picking away at the trout and red fish and drums, the action wasnt fast and furious but it was steady enough to keep it intresting.After hitting a few other spots around the east side we headed to oak river area and found a good bite in some of the smaller lagoons and at 1 spot we picked up 35 nice trout and 5 reds and 4 puppy drums, easily the best stop of the day. So with a good day made we made one final stop in lake campo to finnish with a flurry of bay snappers and 3 more red and 2 more drums and that was a wrap.With smiles all around and a whole lott of pressure off me we headed to the dock with a good box of fish.
All the fish today were caught on live and dead shrimp rigged 3 feet under a rattling poping cork fished tight up to the grass.The final fish count was 41 fat speckled trout 10 red fish 6 drums and 35 bay snappers.Not a bad day considering we almost cancled the trip.

Hello fellow anglers. What a great fishing trip with a wonderful family who drove in from baton rouge on sunday morning to get some meat for their freezers and that we did. After a ominous lookig sky of 3 rainbows on my ride back to the dock with the bait the rain blew over and revealed an absolutly georgous day to rip some lips. Today I had the pleasure of fishin with my good fried Mr. Al his brother and his son with his sons new wife and als grandson and boy could those guys fish even with equipment that were not fimaliar with they jumped right in and started smoking the trout at the first stop the bite was not on fire but steady and we managed to put 72 fat specks on ice before they slowed a bit and we made a short move and picked up 20 more trout with some spanish mackrell and lady fish mixed in the the tide went slack and so did the bite.So on to spot number 2 and from the moment we stopped it was solid action with a mixed bag of fish coming in from red fish to big specks to puppy drums to all of the bay snappers they could stand.After a few hours of rod bending action and the sweltering heat and very little wind we called it a day (also the fish box was bursting at the seams) and headed to the home twenty.
It was a blast fishing with Al and his family tloday and they all cant wait until our next trip on the Louisiana coast.The final fish count for the day was 112 specks 7 red fish 4 drums and 35 bay snappers. All fish today were caught using live shrimp rigged 3 feet under a rattling poping cork.
