Hello fellow anglers. I love this business I am in because you just never know who is going to get on the boat with you in the morning. This morning I had a group of four from the Zachary area and one of them happened to be a friend of my brother’s, Ronnie, who is also a charter captain. Eric and Ronnie had played football at Glen Oaks High back in the old days but when I introduced myself Eric instantly wanted to know if I knew a Ronnie Hope. Well, sometimes I am not sure if that is good or bad but I went ahead and admitted that he was my brother. It is a small world. Eric is a teacher in Zachary and he and I talked all day long about the old days at Glen Oaks. On top of that we caught some fine fish and they were able to bring home a lot of filleted fish for future enjoyment. We ended up with a bunch of trout, a few redfish and some drum and sheephead mixed in. All in all it was a great day fishing with four great guys who knew how to fish. Below are the pictures of the trip that shows that Breton Sound is still hot and only heating up. Since we are one of the few open areas to fish inland right now you need to book early due to increased bookings and you never know when Wildlife and Fisheries will decide to close the area to fish with this oil still spilling in the Gulf.
